The
94th Civil Engineer Squadron was recognized for its effort to
make the Dobbins POW/MIA Memorial Park a place of somber remembrance
for base servicemembers and visitors.
The
park and what it represents is important to many people and
vividly carries on a strong tradition at Dobbins where we remember
our POWs and MIAs.
The
park and its events are meant to instill pride for POWs and
their families, bring together families of those missing in
action, and to inspire community groups to join in its decoration.
Going
back 24 years, the grounds have hosted POWs and heard their
stories of imprisonment and will continue host gatherings that
highlight the service of POWs and the plight of MIA families.
The stories told by POWs help recognize their contributions
and thank them for their sacrifices

life, designed, and construction started.
