But, by early 2003, activity picked up around the park. And where once there were gullies, concrete started to appear.
By 2004, the park had taken shape and a dedication was planned in conjunction with the Tree Planting Ceremony for September 22, but Hurricane Ivan had different plans as he swept through Dobbins that afternoon. Not all was lost that day as the Dobbins Top Three dedicated a POW/MIA table at the Consolidated Club.
The park is an ongoing project. In the years to come, the Dobbins Chiefs Group will sponsor the park’s decoration to include memorial bronze plaques for each of the walls, park benches, and other additions as defined. (Continued)
