Today marks the official opening of the Dobbins POW/MIA Memorial Park. In years to come, this area will provide a place of reflection and solace to all those who visit and most importantly always remind us of the sacrifices made by those servicemembers who were captured or became missing during our nation's wars. Highlighting the park is the esplanade area with five flagpoles for each service flag and the POW/MIA flag. In addition, the four walls honor America's POWs and MIAs. The upper wall is dedicated to the Vietnam War, the second wall to the Korean War and the lower walls to World War II, and World War I. Sidewalks traverse throughout the park, running in front of each wall and connecting all the walls. (Next page)
